There are three types of passports in India:
Regular Passport: This is the most common type of passport that is issued to citizens for ordinary travel. It is valid for 10 years for adults and 5 years for minors.
Diplomatic Passport: This passport is issued to Indian diplomats, top-ranking government officials, and their family members. It is also issued to officials who travel on official government business.
Official Passport: This passport is issued to government employees who are traveling abroad on official business. It is also issued to members of the public or private sector who are on government-sponsored trips.
